Understanding subscription vs one-time chargesUpdated 2 months ago

Two Types of CENTR Charges

CENTR operates two businesses, so you may see two different types of charges on your statement.

Subscription Charges (Recurring)

What they are: Recurring payments for CENTR app membership

  • Frequency: Monthly or Annual
  • Amount: Typically $29.99/month or $159-$179.99/year
  • What you get: Access to CENTR app content (workouts, meal plans, programs)
  • How they appear: "CENTR", "CENTR LLC", "Apple.com/bill CENTR", or "Google Play CENTR"
  • Automatic: Charges repeat until you cancel

One-Time Charges (Equipment)

What they are: Single payments for physical equipment purchases

  • Frequency: One-time only
  • Amount: Varies by equipment (typically $100-$500+)
  • What you get: Physical fitness equipment (workout kits, resistance bands, etc.)
  • How they appear: "CENTR" or "CENTR LLC" with larger amounts
  • No repeat: One-time purchase, no recurring charges

How to Tell the Difference

  • Amount: Subscription = $29.99 or $159-179, Equipment = Usually higher amounts
  • Frequency: Subscription = Repeats monthly/yearly, Equipment = One time only
  • Timing: Subscription = Regular intervals, Equipment = When you place order
  • Receipt: Clearly states "subscription" or "order" in receipt email

Why You Might See Both

Many customers purchase both:

  • Equipment purchase: One-time payment for workout equipment
  • Trial code included: Equipment comes with 3-month app trial
  • Trial converts: After trial, app subscription billing begins
  • Result: Past equipment charge + new recurring app charges

Common Confusion Scenarios

"I only bought equipment, why am I being charged monthly?"

Your equipment included a free trial code for the CENTR app. When the trial ended, it converted to a paid subscription. This is two separate products:

  • Equipment = one-time purchase (already paid)
  • App subscription = separate recurring charge

Cancel the app subscription if you only wanted equipment.

"I thought I was buying equipment but it's a subscription"

Equipment purchases and app subscriptions are separate:

  • Equipment is one-time purchase
  • App subscription is separate recurring charge
  • Check your receipt to confirm which you purchased

How to Check What You're Paying For

  • Review your email receipts - clearly state subscription or order
  • Check charge frequency - monthly/annual = subscription
  • Look at your subscription settings in Apple/Google/Web
  • Contact [email protected] for clarification on specific charges

Managing Each Type

Subscription Charges

  • Cancel anytime through subscription platform
  • No more charges after cancellation
  • Access continues through paid period

Equipment Charges

  • One-time only - no ongoing charges
  • No cancellation needed (already complete)
  • Equipment is yours to keep
