Quick Solution

The "invalid credentials" or "login failed" error means your email or password is incorrect. The fastest fix is to reset your password using the "Forgot Password" option.

What This Error Means

This error appears when:

  • The password you entered doesn't match the password on file
  • The email address you entered doesn't have an account
  • There's a typo in your email or password
  • You're using an old password that was already changed

Solutions to Try (In Order)

1. Check for Typos

Before anything else, double-check what you typed:

  • Password: Watch for caps lock being on, extra spaces, or wrong characters
  • Email: Common mistakes include .com vs .net, gmail vs hotmail, missing letters
  • Case sensitivity: Passwords are case-sensitive (MyPassword ≠ mypassword)

2. Reset Your Password

This is the most reliable solution:

On Mobile App:

  1. On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password"
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Tap "Send Reset Link"
  4. Check your email (and spam folder)
  5. Click the reset link
  6. Create a new password
  7. Log in with your new password

On Web:

  1. Go to centr.com/login
  2. Click "Forgot Password?"
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Check your email (and spam folder)
  5. Click the reset link
  6. Create a new password
  7. Log in with your new password

Password reset typically takes just 2-3 minutes and solves most "invalid credentials" errors.

3. Try Your Apple Private Relay Email

If you signed up with "Sign in with Apple" and enabled "Hide My Email," your account uses an Apple relay email (format: [email protected]), NOT your regular email.

To find your relay email:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Go to "Password & Security" → "Apps Using Apple ID"
  4. Find CENTR in the list
  5. Note the relay email shown
  6. Try logging in with this email instead

Or simply tap "Sign in with Apple" on the login screen instead of using email/password.

4. Try Social Login

If you originally signed up with Apple or Google, use the social login button instead:

  • On the login screen, look for "Sign in with Apple" or "Continue with Google"
  • Tap that button instead of entering email/password
  • Use your Apple ID or Google credentials
  • You'll be logged in without needing to remember a password

5. Try All Your Email Addresses

If you have multiple email addresses, try each one:

  • Personal email
  • Work email
  • Old email accounts
  • Alternative domains (.com, .net, .org)

Look for old CENTR emails or receipts to confirm which email you used during signup.

After October 2025 Update Issues

If you're seeing this error after the v8.0 or v8.1 app update:

  1. Update the app to the latest version (App Store or Google Play)
  2. Use "Forgot Password" within the app (not the website)
  3. Try alternative login methods like "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Apple"
  4. Clear app cache or reinstall if the error persists after password reset

Some users experienced login issues during the October 2025 system upgrade. A password reset usually resolves this.

Advanced Troubleshooting

Clear Cache and Cookies (Web)

If you're on centr.com:

  • Chrome/Edge: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove All
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Data

After clearing, try logging in again.

Reinstall the App (Mobile)

If you're on mobile:

  1. Delete the CENTR app completely
  2. Restart your device
  3. Reinstall from App Store or Google Play
  4. Log in with your credentials

Your workout data is saved on our servers, so reinstalling won't delete your history.

Try a Different Platform

  • If app shows error, try logging in at centr.com
  • If web shows error, try the mobile app
  • This helps determine if it's a platform-specific issue

Check Your Account Status

Account Not Found vs Invalid Credentials

"Invalid credentials" means your account exists but password/email is wrong → Try password reset

"Account not found" means no account with that email → Try different email or check for typos

Too Many Failed Attempts

If you've tried logging in many times:

  • Your account may be temporarily locked for security (10-15 minutes)
  • Wait 15 minutes without trying to log in
  • Then try password reset
  • Don't keep attempting - this extends the lock period
