If you're having trouble accessing your CENTR account after using "Sign in with Apple," you're likely experiencing an issue with Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, also known as Apple Private Relay.

What happened: When you signed up with Apple and enabled "Hide My Email," Apple created a unique relay email address for your CENTR account instead of using your regular email. This can cause access problems if you're trying to use your regular email to log in or reset your password.

This is one of the most common login issues we see (26+ tickets), but it's easy to fix once you understand what's happening.

Understanding Apple Private Relay (Hide My Email)

What Is It?

When you use "Sign in with Apple" and enable the "Hide My Email" option:

  • Apple creates a unique relay email address (format: [email protected])
  • Example: [email protected]
  • This relay email is what CENTR uses for your account, NOT your regular email
  • Emails sent to the relay are forwarded to your real email inbox
  • This protects your privacy by not sharing your real email with CENTR

Why It Causes Login Issues

The confusion happens when:

  • You try to reset password using your real email (doesn't work - account uses relay email)
  • You try to log in with email/password instead of "Sign in with Apple" button
  • You accidentally create a second account with your regular email
  • You can't remember which email your CENTR account uses

Quick Solution: Use "Sign in with Apple" Button

The easiest fix is to continue using Apple Sign-In:

  1. On the CENTR login screen, tap "Sign in with Apple"
  2. You'll be prompted for your Apple ID credentials
  3. You'll be logged in automatically - no password needed
  4. This works on iOS, Android, and Web

Why this works: Apple handles the authentication and automatically uses your relay email in the background. You don't need to remember or find your relay email.

How to Find Your Apple Private Relay Email

If you need to know your relay email (for password reset or support contact), here's how to find it:

On iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap your name at the very top of the screen
  3. Select "Password & Security"
  4. Tap "Apps Using Apple ID"
  5. Find CENTR in the list of apps
  6. You'll see your relay email address displayed (example: [email protected])
  7. Copy or write down this email address

This is the email address registered to your CENTR account.

Common Problems and Solutions

Problem 1: Password Reset Emails Not Arriving

Why: You're requesting password reset with your regular email, but your account uses the relay email.

Solution:

  1. Find your Apple relay email (steps above)
  2. Go to centr.com/login and click "Forgot Password"
  3. Enter your relay email (not your regular email)
  4. Check your regular email inbox - the reset email will be forwarded there
  5. Also check spam folder

Problem 2: Created Duplicate Accounts

Why: You signed in with Apple (creating account with relay email), then later signed up again with your regular email, creating a second account.

Symptoms:

  • Missing workout history or subscription on one account
  • "No account found" when using one email
  • Different data on app vs web

Solution:

  1. Find both email addresses: Your regular email AND your Apple relay email
  2. Contact CENTR support at [email protected]
  3. Provide both email addresses
  4. Support will verify which account has your active subscription
  5. Support will merge the accounts safely (usually within 24 hours)
  6. You'll be able to use your preferred email address going forward

Problem 3: Wrong Email Error When Logging In

Why: You're trying to log in with your regular email, but your account uses the relay email.

Solution:

  • Don't use the email/password fields
  • Instead, tap "Sign in with Apple" on the login screen
  • Or find your relay email and use that for email/password login

Problem 4: Want to Stop Using Apple Private Relay

Solution:

  1. Contact CENTR support at [email protected]
  2. Request to update your account email from relay email to your regular email
  3. Support will verify your identity and update your account
  4. After update, you can log in with your regular email and password
  5. You can still use "Sign in with Apple" if desired

Option 2: Use Email/Password with Relay Email

  • Log in with relay email + password
  • Requires remembering your relay email

Option 3: Switch to Regular Email (Contact Support)

  • Contact support to change account email to your regular email
  • Then use regular email + password
  • Eliminates relay email confusion

How to Avoid This Issue Next Time

When signing up with Apple Sign-In, you see two options:

  • "Share My Email" - Uses your regular Apple ID email with CENTR
  • "Hide My Email" - Creates a relay email (causes the confusion)

If you prefer to use your regular email with services, choose "Share My Email" during Apple Sign-In. However, if you've already signed up with "Hide My Email," don't worry - the solutions above will help you access your account.
