Do I need a gym membership to use CENTR?Updated 20 hours ago

Do I need a gym membership to use Centr?

No. Centr works wherever you train: at home, at the gym, in a hotel room, or outdoors. Many workouts need no equipment at all, and the rest can be done with anything from a pair of dumbbells to a full home gym.

Training at home

No equipment: Bodyweight workouts, including HIIT, strength, yoga, Pilates, shadow boxing, and mobility, can be done with just enough space to lie down and stretch out your arms, about the size of a yoga mat.

Some equipment: Adding a few basics like dumbbells, resistance bands, or a yoga mat opens up more variety. Start with one or two items and build from there if you like.

Home gym: If you have barbells, kettlebells, a bench, or a pull-up bar, Centr’s programs make the most of them. Looking to add to your setup? Browse equipment at shop.centr.com.

Training at the gym

If you already have a gym membership, Centr works there too. Use your gym’s weights and machines to follow structured strength programs, or train at home on some days and the gym on others. Self-guided workouts are especially handy at the gym, since you can see your sets and reps at a glance without keeping a video playing.

Training while you travel

Bodyweight workouts fit easily into a hotel room, and you can use whatever equipment the hotel gym has. Download workouts before you go so you can train without Wi-Fi.

Finding workouts for your space

Add your equipment to your profile in the Centr Coach app, or select “No equipment,” and your recommendations will match what you have. When browsing, use the equipment filter to narrow down workouts on the spot, which is helpful if you train in different places.

Common questions

Can I build muscle without a gym?
Yes. Bodyweight training builds muscle, especially for beginners and intermediate members. For more advanced muscle-building goals, adding dumbbells or resistance bands helps, and both can be used at home.

Do I need to buy equipment?
No. Start with bodyweight workouts, and add equipment later only if you want more variety.
