Known Issue: Android v8.0 Logout Bug
If you're on Android and the app keeps logging you out every time you open it, you're experiencing a known bug affecting Android app version 8.0. A fix is coming in the next Android app update.
What's happening:
- The app logs you out repeatedly
- You must re-enter credentials every time you open the app
- Login succeeds but doesn't "stick"
- Affects Android users on v8.0.0
- Started after the October 2025 update
Official response: "A fix for this bug is in the next Android release. Our development team is actively working on a fix."
Temporary Workarounds (Android v8.0 Users)
While waiting for the app update with the permanent fix, try these workarounds:
1. Use centr.com Website Instead
Access CENTR through your web browser instead of the app:
- Go to centr.com in your mobile browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.)
- Log in with your credentials
- The website works normally without logout issues
- You can access all your workouts, programs, and features
- Stay logged in on the website while waiting for app update
2. Keep App Open in Background
- Don't fully close the app after use
- Leave it running in the background
- Just press Home button instead of swiping away
- This may reduce how often you need to log back in
3. Check for App Updates
- Regularly check Google Play Store for CENTR app updates
- Install any new version as soon as available
- The logout bug fix will come via app update
- Current version: Check Settings in app or Google Play Store
Other Causes of Repeated Logouts
If you're NOT on Android v8.0, or if the workarounds above don't help, try these solutions:
Session Expiration (Security Feature)
For security, CENTR sessions expire after a period of inactivity:
- This is normal security behavior
- Usually only happens after days/weeks of inactivity
- If happening every time you open app, that's NOT normal - see other solutions below
Clear App Cache (Android)
- Go to Settings on your Android device
- Tap Apps or Applications
- Find and tap CENTR
- Tap Storage
- Tap "Clear Cache" (not "Clear Data" - that will delete offline downloads)
- Reopen CENTR app and log in
Reinstall the App (iOS or Android)
A fresh install can fix login persistence issues:
- Delete/uninstall the CENTR app completely
- Restart your device (power off and back on)
- Reinstall the latest version from App Store or Google Play
- Log in with your credentials
- Your workout history is saved on servers - reinstalling won't delete it
Update to Latest App Version
- Go to App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
- Search for CENTR
- If "Update" is available, tap it
- Older versions may have login bugs that newer versions fix
Check Device Settings
iOS users:
- Make sure "Low Power Mode" isn't aggressively closing apps
- Check Settings → General → Background App Refresh → Enable for CENTR
Android users:
- Check battery optimization settings - CENTR should be excluded
- Settings → Apps → CENTR → Battery → "Unrestricted"
- Some Android manufacturers (Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei) have aggressive app killers that log apps out
After October 2025 Update Issues
If logout loop started after the v8.0 or v8.1 update:
- Update to latest version - Check for newer version beyond v8.0
- Contact support for login configuration reset - support can perform a reset that fixes some post-update login issues
- After support resets: Delete app, reinstall, log in with original password
- Try alternative login - Use "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Apple" instead of email/password
Login Configuration Reset (For Persistent Issues)
If you're stuck on the loading screen or experiencing constant logouts after the update, support can perform a "login configuration reset":
- Contact support at [email protected] and request login configuration reset
- After support confirms reset, delete CENTR app from your device
- Reinstall latest version from App Store or Google Play
- Open app and sign in using email and original password (pre-update password)
- This triggers the correct login flow and reconnects your account
Different Login Methods
If email/password login keeps logging you out, try switching to social login:
Sign in with Apple
- Available on iOS, Android, and Web
- On login screen, tap "Sign in with Apple"
- Use your Apple ID credentials
- May stay logged in better than email/password
Sign in with Google
- Available on iOS, Android, and Web
- On login screen, tap "Continue with Google"
- Use your Google account credentials
- May stay logged in better than email/password
