Searching CENTR's Workout Library

The Explore tab is your gateway to searching and discovering workouts across CENTR's complete library of fitness content.

Accessing the Search Function

Step 1: Navigate to Explore

Tap the Explore icon in the bottom navigation bar of the CENTR app. Explore contains the full library of workouts, recipes, meditations, and articles.

Step 2: Choose Your Workout Format

In the Explore section, you'll see two main workout categories to search within:

  • Coached Workouts: Follow-along video classes where you train in real-time with expert trainers. These are like taking a fitness class - you follow the trainer's pace and movements from start to finish, perfect for when you want structure and motivation.
  • Self-Guided Workouts: Interactive workout experiences that you control. These workouts include tutorials, weight logging capabilities, and let you move at your own pace. Ideal when you want to take your time, log your strength progress, or repeat exercises.

How to Search Effectively

Once you select either Coached or Self-Guided workouts, you can use various filters to narrow your search:

  • Equipment: Filter by what you have available (no equipment, dumbbells, resistance bands, full gym, etc.)
  • Duration: Find workouts that fit your available time
  • Workout Type: Search by category like Strength, HIIT, Yoga, Boxing, or Pilates
  • Trainer: Find workouts led by your favorite CENTR trainers
  • Body Focus: Target specific muscle groups or body areas

The My Equipment Shortcut

To make searching faster, fill out your My Equipment profile when prompted. This feature remembers what equipment you have available and creates shortcuts in Explore, automatically showing you workouts you can do with your gear.

Difference Between Coached and Self-Guided

Understanding the difference helps you search in the right category:

  • Coached Workouts: Real-time video instruction, trainer motivation, set pacing, perfect for following along without thinking
  • Self-Guided Workouts: Step-by-step exercise breakdowns, ability to log weights and track progress, control your own pace and rest periods, includes exercise tutorials

Both formats provide excellent workouts - it's simply about your training preference and goals.

Tips for Better Search Results

  • Start broad, then filter: Begin by choosing Coached or Self-Guided, then apply filters to narrow down options
  • Update My Equipment: Keep your equipment profile current so search results match what you can actually do
  • Try both formats: Don't limit yourself to just one format - some members prefer Coached for cardio and Self-Guided for strength training
  • Save favorites: When you find workouts you love, save them for easy access later
  • Explore by trainer: If you connect with a specific trainer's style, search for their workouts

Beyond Workouts

Remember that Explore also contains:

  • Recipes: Search meal plans and individual recipes
  • Meditations: Find guided meditation sessions
  • Articles: Browse educational content on fitness, nutrition, and wellness

Alternative to Searching

If you find searching overwhelming or prefer not to choose every workout:

  • Use Daily Workouts: Found on the Home tab, these are automatically matched to your goals and fitness level
  • Join a Program: Programs provide pre-planned workout schedules so you don't have to search
  • Check My Plan: View your personalized workout schedule on the Home tab

About 75% of CENTR members follow programs, but many mix program workouts with occasional searches in Explore when they want variety.
